Set up Discord events and FFXIV raid sign-ups

Schedule Aymeric event posts in Discord, collect sign-ups for FFXIV raids or community events, and set party slots, time zones and reminders.

Create an event

Create the event in your server’s Events dashboard, choose its channel and time zone, then set when Aymeric should announce it. For an eight-player FFXIV raid, you can use one group with eight places: two tanks, two healers and four damage dealers. Adjust the slots to suit your activity.

  1. Open Events from your server dashboard. Enter a title, organiser display name, description and channel. Optionally add an image, thumbnail and embed colour.
  2. Choose a time zone such as Europe/London. For a one-time event, set its future local start date and time. For a weekly event, choose the weekdays and start hour and minute.
  3. Set the duration and announcement lead time. Weekly announcements need at least one hour of notice. One-time events are announced immediately.
  4. Choose the sign-up options and any reminders, enable the event and save. Check the event post when the bot publishes it.

Sign-ups and reminders

You can allow accept, tentative and decline responses. For organised parties, configure the number of groups, attendee limits and tank, healer and damage slots.

A role reminder needs a selected role and at least one hour of lead time. Review who that role will notify before enabling the reminder.

An event-manager role can edit events without access to unrelated server settings. An organiser display name is a label, not a permission grant.

Common questions

Why are edits or sign-ups not showing immediately?
Aymeric updates event messages in the background, so saving doesn’t mean Discord has the update yet. Allow a moment, then check the event is enabled and Aymeric can still reach its channel. Changes to an event that has already started may not update its existing post.
Does deleting the Discord message stop an event?
Yes, and more: deleting an event’s announcement in Discord deletes the saved event too, so it disappears from the dashboard and won’t be posted again. To pause an event and keep its settings, turn it off in the dashboard instead.
What happens if I react more than once or the group is full?
Your most recent reaction is the response Aymeric records; earlier emoji may still show on the message. Places are filled in reaction order, using the event’s group and role limits. Check the attendee list rather than the emoji count to see whether you have a place.
Why is an event disabled or failing to post?
Check the channel and Aymeric’s View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, Read Message History and Add Reactions permissions there. External emoji may also need Use External Emojis. Check the date, time zone and announcement settings before turning the event back on.
