Twitch announcements
Announce a streamer going live and optionally assign them a live role.
Set this up for your server in the dashboard. Open the dashboard
Add a streamer
- Open Twitch announcements from your server dashboard and add the Twitch username, without a channel URL.
- Enable live announcements and choose a destination channel. Choose whether the message includes a stream preview or mentions a role.
- To mention the streamer or assign a live role, provide their Discord user ID. Select the live role if you want that feature.
- Enable and save the entry. Aymeric checks regularly whether the streamer is live; saving does not post a test announcement.
Check announcements and roles
Check that the username is correct and that the selected Discord member is in your server. A Twitch username and a Discord user ID identify different accounts.
Aymeric needs channel access to post and Manage Roles with a suitable role position for live-role changes. Review the audience of role mentions before enabling them.
Common questions
Why hasn’t a live announcement or role appeared?
Live checks run in the background, so saving an entry doesn’t announce anything straight away. Check the Twitch username (not a channel URL), the enabled switches and the channel. For live roles, also check the streamer’s Discord user ID, Manage Roles and Aymeric’s role position.
