Permissions and role hierarchy
Check the permissions a feature needs, without giving the bot unrestricted access.

Messages, cards and announcements
In the destination channel, allow Aymeric to View Channel and Send Messages. Embed Links is needed for rich responses; Attach Files is needed for character and equipment cards. Read Message History and Add Reactions are needed for reaction roles and event sign-ups.
Check channel-specific overrides as well as the bot’s server role. A permission on the role can be denied in a particular channel. External custom emoji may also require Use External Emojis.
Roles and nicknames
Reaction roles, joining roles, reward roles, live-stream roles and character roles require Manage Roles. Put Aymeric’s highest role above each role it should assign or remove. Managed integration roles cannot be assigned like ordinary roles.
Character-name nicknames and custom-command nickname actions require Manage Nicknames and the appropriate member hierarchy. Moving the bot above a reward role does not mean it should be placed above your administrators.
Moderation permissions
Removing other people’s messages or clearing reactions requires Manage Messages.
Give additional permissions only for the features you actually use. Administrator is not a substitute for checking an incorrect channel override or role position.
Who can use commands?
- In Discord, open Server Settings, then Integrations and select Ser Aymeric.
- Review the app’s command permissions for members, roles and channels. Use Application Commands also affects whether members can use slash commands in a channel.
- Test with an ordinary member account. Owners and administrators can bypass command restrictions.
Give your team website access
Server owners and members with Administrator or Manage Server can manage Aymeric on this website. Under Website access in your server’s dashboard, you can add a bot-admin role, which can manage the bot’s settings, and an event-manager role, which can manage events without access to anything else.
Website access is separate from permission to use a Discord command. Role and channel changes still need the matching Discord permissions, and some settings are restricted to the server owner.

Does Aymeric need Administrator permission?
Can I restrict who uses commands?
/custom command, so restrictions apply to that command rather than to each saved name.
